Earby Before the 1880's
Earby Youth Hostel to Thornton in Craven Church. Circular walk returning via Boothbridge.
On Walk 1 is a view of Earby before the 1880’s, when most of the terraced houses and mills were built, concentrating on Earby’s pre-cotton manufacturing history.
Earby has a long history from the early bronze age. Stone heads, a burial circle and flints have been discovered and some of these items are in the Craven museum in Skipton. There are remains of a Roman Road at Thornton which you will cross during the walk.
The walk is approximately 4.5 miles.
