SALTERFORTH

 

Salterforth is a village and civil parish within the Borough of Pendle in Lancashire, England.  It is within the ecclesiastical parish, and historically the manor of Barnoldswick.

 

Also from a historical perspective the village was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire and used to be within the Skipton Rural District until 1974 when boundary changes took place.  Some of the area is still referred to as West Craven which comes from Salterforth's links with the Craven area of North Yorkshire.
